Cultures of care are experienced through both relationships and structures. This course will focus on the relational elements, the next course will focus on structural elements of care and power. Every interaction between colleagues, managers, teams, and stakeholders is an ongoing practice of power and care through our understanding of autonomy, influence, and responsibility. While organizations establish the systems that shape culture, people bring those systems to life through everyday relationships and decisions.
This course explores relational power as the ability to influence, support, and co-create cultures of care through everyday interactions. Participants examine the relationship between personal agency, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, autonomy, and shared responsibility while learning how individual actions contribute to collective wellbeing. Throughout the course, learners will investigate how power operates within relationships and how practices such as communication, reflection, empathy, and shared ownership strengthen cultures of care. By the end of the course participants will complete a Relational Power and Care Assessment that identifies opportunities to strengthen their own practices while contributing to healthier teams and organizations.
