Foundations of Data Management (DM 101)

Description

This course equips nonprofit professionals with the knowledge and tools to manage data responsibly, ethically, and effectively across the entire data lifecycle. Participants will learn how to design and implement data management strategies that balance technical excellence with community trust and engagement. In this context, data management represents the implementation of data work in practice; the daily processes, systems, and decisions that bring an organization’s data governance principles to life. By the end of the course, participants will create a Data Management Engagement Plan, a comprehensive roadmap integrating technical processes, security measures, and community-centered practices for data collection, quality, storage, analysis, and sharing.
